Happy Tuesday! Today I'm excited to share a tour of my first grade classroom! I teach at a Title I school in Reno, Nevada. This is my second year at this school. I've worked very hard to cultivate a classroom where students feel comfortable and excited to learn! I believe it's very important to have a safe, clean, and organized classroom in order for students to learn best. I've been so grateful over the last two years to have tons of classroom supplies and decorations donated! If you have donated in the past, thank you so so so much! You have no clue how much it means to me and to my students.

Welcome! I'm so glad you're here :)

Here is the view of the classroom when you first walk inside. The students spend most of the time on the carpet or at their tables.

This is the back wall where the students' cubbies are. This is where they keep their coats, backpacks, and supplies. You can also see their mailboxes.

Next is our classroom library! Books and reading are one of the main reasons why I love to teach! I have my books organized by bin (you can look closely at the cards on the bins). The students try but ultimately, it's hard to get the library organized and looking pretty so this picture is real life!

This is probably my favorite space in all of the classroom! It is the calming corner. Students can ask to come here when they need a break. This could be for a range of reasons but it's helpful for students to spend some time relaxing, playing with the sensory toys and stuffed animals, and taking time for their thoughts. I've also taught my students a few breathing exercises they can practice here if they'd like.

Here is Number Corner! Number Corner is the first part of math where we go over the calendar, the number of days in school, the date, and more. It is part of the Bridges curriculum and I'm a fan of it!

Over here is the table where I do majority of my small group instruction. When students are working independently, I will often pull small groups or individual students for intervention work and assessments.

Here is our technology corner! We almost have one-to-one technology (we are a few iPads short)! We use the iPads a couple times a day for various subjects. I absolutely love these SpaceAid storage for the tablets. My mom purchased some and so did others for our classroom- THANK YOU!

This is where the kids and I spend most of our day. The kids all have an assigned letter that they sit on for instruction but we move around a lot too. I absolutely love this carpet that I bought over the summer! It was on clearance for only $50 on Amazon and I fell in LOVE!

Here's my corner of the room! I have a couple desks set up and a desktop computer which is nice. However, there's rarely time to sit down during the school day haha!

Here is a view of the final wall in our classroom. Lots of space for storage here and I'm grateful to have a mini fridge, Keurig, and microwave in my room!

The last part I wanted to share is our class bulletin boards out in the hallway. I primarily use this one to show student work in ELA.

Overall, I am grateful for this beautiful classroom where I get to spend majority of my weekdays with my 19 year old six and seven year olds. I love my job a lot. I hope you enjoyed this tour of my classroom! Please reach out if you have any specific questions or want to know more about my work as a first grade teacher.
