Hi everyone! I have a very exciting post today that I have been wanting to do for a while. I will be sharing pictures of my house where I have been living for pre-service training. I have been living with my host family here for about two months now. I asked my Ibu if it was alright if I took some pictures to share with family and friends and she said of course! I am moving to my permanent site in almost two weeks which is hard to believe. I am going to miss my host family so much! I hope you enjoy and please feel free to comment any questions you have about living with a host family or living in Indonesia and I will try to answer those in another blog post.
I absolutely love the front terrace. My language class is actually held at my house right here on this terrace. It's beautiful and so nice to be outside while learning. Also, my Ibu and I love to sit outside here and chat while eating ice cream.
This is the view from the terrace. I live in front of a giant field. It's very refreshing and perfect for running in the mornings.
I feel very fortunate to live in the house that I do. It is absolutely beautiful! This is one of three sitting rooms. My house is very well decorated too.
You'll notice in the top left corner that there is a family picture with a volunteer that my host family hosted in the past. Crossing fingers I make the wall too! :)
Here is a picture of my bed in my room. I have a giant bed which is super comfy (bigger than the twin size I had in the U.S.)! You'll also notice my mosquito net covering my bed which is given to every volunteer in Indonesia.
My desk and vanity. I also have a big wardrobe to the left too which fits a lot of clothes.
This is the sitting room outside of my bedroom. I love to sit here and read.
I have a little garden and pond at the center of my house. It's absolutely beautiful! My cat likes to sit here and look at the fish.
This is a picture of the bathroom. I bathe here (mandi) by taking the bucket and pouring water on myself. The cold water is always refreshing!
Finally, here is the best room aka the kitchen! This is where the magic happens and I get to enjoy delicious, traditional Indonesian food thanks to my Ibu.
Well, that's all folks! I hope you enjoyed and like I said before, please don't hesitate to post questions in the comments! Thank you for reading and I'll be back soon with another blog post!
